

The upcoming camping bookings release for Parks Victoria’s 131 paid campgrounds has been delayed.
Bookings for Roofed Accommodation will open as planned on Tuesday 4 March for bookings from 1 July to 17 December.
Recharge in nature this year with a wide range of accommodation experiences available to book across the state. Whether you’re looking for a big family getaway or a small trip for two, you can find the perfect camping spot in Victoria’s parks.
This includes:
- Units, cabins, huts and lodges at Tidal River and Just Inside the Gate lodge
- Caves House at Buchan Caves Reserve
- Shearers Quarters at Murray Sunset National Park
Bookings will also open for:
- Discovery Tents at Point Nepean National Park (note: Available from 1 September)
- Grampians Peaks Trail - north and south sections only.
No bookings or fees are required for the more than 250 free camping areas in Victoria's state , and the more than 1000 first-come-first-serve campgrounds also available across the Parks Victoria estate.
How does the booking system work for paid camping and accommodation sites?
To avoid disappointment, you’ll need to book popular paid campsites in advance using the Parks Victoria booking . The bookings are released quarterly – check out the release to stay up to date.

- Camping and accommodation bookings for the 1 December 2024 and 30 June 2025 period are currently open.
- Camping in 131 of Parks Victoria’s paid campgrounds is free of charge between 1 December 2024 and 30 June 2025. Learn how to secure your spot with the free camping .

- Accommodation bookings for the 1 July to 17 December 2025 period will open in the first week of March 2025.
Important tips
- Always check which campsites you need to book in advance.
- Always check the Parks Victoria – and download the VicEmergency app from the App or Google for up-to-date information, or any alerts, related to your camping location before you go.
- Some of the more popular campgrounds experience peak season periods. Remember to check release dates and minimum stay .
- Please cancel your booking if plans change. This ensures campsites aren’t left empty and others can enjoy a free stay in nature.
- Before lighting a campfire make sure you know if campfires are allowed and get familiar with these campfire safety .
- Take out what you bring in – rubbish bins are not provided at most campgrounds, so you will need to take your own rubbish home with you.
