Event details
Come join in a celebration of older Victorians, their friends, allies and families. Celebration Day welcomes all to enjoy and engage in wonderful performances.
Federation Square will come to life with entertainment featuring the talents of mainly older artists. Enjoy music, dance and workshops across the Main Square, the Atrium and the Edge Theatre.

Celebration Day program
Main Square
The Main Square at Fed Square is a great place to sit and enjoy non-stop action with great music and dance from around the world. There are lots of opportunities for you to join in as well!
The Atrium
On Celebration Day, head into The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia or join in with the Knox Community Chess Enthusiasts to enjoy a game of giant chess.
Edge Theatre
Overlooking the Yarra River, this beautiful theatre will feature great community acts on Celebration Day.

Victorian Seniors Card holders can enjoy 9 days of free public transport across Victoria from 3 to 11 October 2026. This includes all metropolitan public transport services, V/Line train and coach services, and selected regional bus services outside the myki area.
With trains and trams right beside Fed Square, public transport is the best way to get to Celebration Day.
When exiting Flinders Street Station, please head to the southern exit closest to the Yarra River and the Clocks at Flinders restaurant.
Reservations are available on most long-distance V/Line trains and some coaches. To book a seat on reserved V/Line services, visit your nearest staffed station or agent or call 1800 800 007.
